Squid's Happy Home Tail

From the team at TYDR:

We are beyond excited to see the official poster for Runt, starring our very own rescue pup, Squid! ( Formally Maisie )

Squid came to us after passing through a number of homes before being discarded because of her big energy. She wasn't yet a year old and not one of her homes had bothered to put any effort into training her.

When Bec from We Do Animals saw Squid’s picture and profile while searching for a rescue dog that could fit the role of Runt, she was pretty sure she had just spotted her future star.

It only took one meet for Bec to know Squid had a drive to learn and was bursting with potential.

So the big adventure began and one year later Squid is a movie star!

We are so very grateful to Bec, Craig and everyone involved in seeing Squid for all the wonderful she is and choosing her for this amazing role and exceptional life.

The movie Runt will be in cinemas September 19.

We are so proud of our scruffy super star and cannot wait to see her up there on the big screen!

Squid's new family:

Our casting brief made it a point of focus to foster a mix breed dog to play Runt, and our brilliant, dedicated, passionate Animal Department searched far and wide before finding Squid. Instantly, we knew we had found our star.

Squid responded incredibly well to training, and she now has a loving home for life.

I hope the world will fall in love with Squid as much as we have.

An Extract from 'Film Ink':

His mannerisms both at home and while competing are curiously relatable (the whole subplot involving blinders is neurodivergent), and the way he’s introduced and described, he’s basically the mongrel that represents our nation of mongrels; a symbol for how it doesn’t matter where you were or who you’ve been, because you’re here now with the rest of us are just trying to live our truths. He is mateship made manifest..."
